Design: What’s Trending Now

I wanted to share a couple of my favorite design trends of the moment. First up is wavy typography. These fonts go along with an overall surrealist moment we are experiencing in design, probably in a response to the last few years being dominated by the pandemic and negative news cycles. Both marketers and consumers alike are feeling the need for escapism and who can blame them. Wavy fonts impart a sense of play, movement and fantasy that can liven up your design yet still maintain a level of sophistication.

Another trend I am really enjoying are these grainy gradient shapes. They bring a nice vibrancy to projects and feel less techy than their full-bleed predecessors. They also can bring an amazing array of colors from full spectrums of neons to soft muted tones depending on the look you are going for. I prefer to develop my own but pre-made ones like the one shown below can also be purchased. These grainy gradients make beautiful compositions and can be especially stunning in your packaging design. If you are interested in talking more about how to incorporate this look into your brand let’s connect.
